Summer Craft for Polka Dot Ribbons

I love flip flops, but I love my ribbon collection even more!

Here is a great way to show off your ribbon stash, ladies...create these polka dot ribbon flip flops with your kids for a great summer craft project.

Find my materials list, instructions and resource links at www.polkadotbirthday.com where I wrote about an idea for confetti ribbon flip flop party favors yesterday.

I just happened to be at the craft mecca, Hobby Lobby, yesterday too and could not believe their amazing selection of flip flops in every color for kids, teens and women. All 50% off this week - go stock up!

How cute would these be in your favorite fall football team colors for those early tailgating parties? Or as a back-to-school team project for cheerleaders?

I hope you love making these. I use over eight yards of ribbon on my pairs, but you don't have to go that crazy. I just have a lot of ribbon!

I would love to see photos of your creations - leave a comment with a link to your ribbon flip flop projects on your blogs.

Our first "mum" - welcome Amy from Australia, the owner and crafty mum behind these beautiful Giggleberry designer fabric bunting sets!

Amy writes she is a "stay at home mum of two" to her 6-month-old daughter, Milla, and her 7-year-old step-daughter, Felicity. She loves her job and says, "I couldn't think of anything better in the world."

She runs Felicity's play-based therapy for her autism four days a week and juggles Milla and Giggleberry the rest of the week. Amy loves to be busy, and to "get in and get things done!"

Her crafty business, Giggleberry, stocks pre-made and custom fabric party bunting sets that are beautiful in kids' rooms, nurseries, cubbies, play rooms, parties, baby gifts, craft show tent displays and more.

We love her Amy Butler fabric bunting sets which feature her "full moon dots" fabric line in lime and pink. They may be used again and again for parties or as the sweetest addition to a little girl's bedroom or nursery. How cute!

Giggleberry is filled with more polka dot fabric bunting sets too. She also stocks fabrics for boys, girls and everything in-between. If she can find your fabric, she is more than happy to make a custom bunting flag banner for you and your special occasion.

Polka Dot Ribbon Sale at Bella Joys!

Okay, it's not just a polka dot ribbon sale. It's a STOREWIDE sale on all of Christy's beautiful ribbons at Bella Joys! Save 10-15% off nearly every ribbon order, big or small.

I like to order my popular polka dot ribbons from her wholesale ribbons section (whole spools). Then I always order some new, fun ribbons from her retail section (5 yard increments).

Christy has the best selection of preppy pink and green polka dot ribbons too!

Head on over to this great sale for your summer ribbons. You can even stock-up for your back-to-school, Halloween and Christmas projects by shopping her holiday ribbons section.

Did I mention how great Christy is to work with? Once I received a ribbon that wasn't quite right. I e-mailed her from the site and she personally called me right away to work it out. She is super. You will love shopping at Bella Joys!

What are your favorite ribbon colors from Bella Joys?

For some reason these words really struck a chord. Could it be because I am NOT calm? So much to do and so little time, right? I'm hanging these in my office, kitchen and laundry room as soon as possible. If you are having a day, week or month like me, let's take a deep breath together and say, "Keep Calm and Carry On!"
What relaxes, inspires and encourages you to carry on throughout your days?

Polka Dot Baby Soft Blocks

These beautiful polka dot baby soft blocks are the creation of Neha and Madhu, owners of Goose Moose and Beans.

Madhu is Neha's mother-in-law and the talented seamstress of the team. Neha is the designer and mother of two little "beans", Ella and Kieran. Neha's nephew Shailen is the "goose" and nephew Deven is the "moose". Since this is a family business, they thought "Goose Moose and Beans" would suit them all perfectly. Their logo is the best part (I love this):

A goose with moose antlers and a bean stalk - so creative!

Their shop is filled with handmade baby gifts in your favorite fabrics and sewn with the highest quality and attention to detail. Neha has great taste in her fabric selections and coordinating prints.

We love her unique baby soft blocks especially - these are so hard to find. The ladies will even monogram your blocks for free (and they include a jingle bell inside)!

Goose's soft blocks measure approximately four inches square in coordinating fabrics and textures including fluffy chenille, soft minky fabric and chambray. Their blocks are designed with baby's developmental needs in mind, stimulating visual, tactile and auditory senses with the added jingle bell encased securely inside. Tiny fingers can easily grasp and hold these machine-washable soft blocks and they are stuffed with a hypo-allergenic filling. What a thoughtful baby shower gift or new baby gift!

The ladies at Goose Moose and Beans are happy to discuss custom fabric colors with you too. Neha has young children so she is always up late at night (like me) so you can send her an e-mail anytime.

Visit http://goosemooseandbeans.etsy.com/ to see more of Neha and Madhu's creations.

We love that TWO moms have come together in this creative venture. Two heads are always better than one...which reminds me of a Bible verse that my own mom has by her kitchen sink (it has been there for years):

Isn't this so true for all moms in business? There are so many people who help us and who pick us up each and every day. I know I need to take more time to see how I can help them up too.
Thank you for the inspiration and quiet reminder, Neha and Madhu. To your success!
